Urban Tech Academy (UTA) is a charitable, educational and civic organization created to provide IT skill development in underserved communities; by providing “education to careers” opportunities for youth and adults.

Urban Tech Academy will be the Silicone Valley for IT companies looking to diversify their work force with untapped talent from communities of Chicago.





PROGRAMS



Urban Tech Academy focuses on improving Information Technology (IT) skills today through immersive teaching and tutoring, embracing tomorrow through coaching and mentoring, and exploring the future through internship placement,with an entrepreneurial focus training. Our programs provide resources to underserved community members of Englewood and Greater Chicago.

IT certifications track



Basic training through the Cisco Network Academy for entry level IT Certifications.

- Basic training through the Microsoft IT Academy for Office 365 and Microsoft Suite Courses and certifications..

Our IT Certification Track is a streamlined pathway that engages students for the purpose of academic preparation for IT careers and advanced level certifications.



Youth Tech Program



In partnership with six Local elementary and High schools, this is a comprehensive program the prepares at risk youth (students ages 14 to 24) for Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM Careers). The education to careers model focuses on immersive teaching with lab base training. The program is implemented in cohorts of 25 to 30 students at various locations throughout Englewood, Auburn Gresham, Chatham and Grand Crossing.



Computer Build and Repair



Students learn the basics of computer hardware and software through the hands on experience by rebuilding and refurbishing pc’s, laptop’s and desktop terminals.
